I love the look of this sandal. So far, the materials hold up -- the snakelike "leather" exterior seems a little delicate, but I've only worn the shoes once so I am not qualified to say if they will scuff easily or flake/peel. The shoe is light and very classy. What I noticed is that the bands feel a little tight. I have one foot that is 10.5 and one that is 10. I can never find a 10.5 shoe, so I always buy an 11. That's what I bought and I was surprised to find it tight on both feet. Again, I have only worn the shoe once. Perhaps it will loosen up a bit? The purpose for which I purchased the sandal was a more "dressy" afternoon party. These look great with white linen pants -- a nice change from a basic white sandal. The gold is soft and not flashy or garish.
